Foundation for Agriculture, Safety, Water and Infrastructure (FASWI) is a Non- Profit Company (NPC) established February 2018 to support the rural communities in improving their access to economic activities within the Agricultural sector. FASWI believes that economic development can be achieved through sustainable strategies and technologies for agriculture, water, energy and infrastructure sectors. FASWI is focusing all its efforts towards increasing Economic activity of the rural areas within the Southern Africa region. This will be done through development of innovative marketing, distribution and production models to build a new rural society where communities and individuals are self-reliant and able to design locally-adapted and ecologically sustainable socio-economic development.
Our Model
Aims to increase community involvement through establishment of rural producing enterprises which will assist in poverty eradication and public health care within these communities. The current farmers are characterised by small scale farming and excessive support from government at all levels of their productive capacity. (Annual Report DAFF, 2016). FASWI’s business model integrates training, research, production including entrepreneurship and commercialisation in a multi-cultural centre to improve the rate at which we meet the requirements of the consumers within a particular market segment. In our view, our model will add value to the overall intentions by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), Department of Social Development (DSD) and Department of Health (DoH) thereby deepening impact on the lives of the rural communities.
